When I stepped out onto the mission field, I never anticipated the true gravity of my decision to say yes to this life of abandonment and self-sacrifice. From the peak of a volcano in Guatemala to the mountainsides of Honduras, from the soft, sandy beaches of Costa Rica to the incomparable greenery of Nicaragua, I have seen the Lord move in ways that I could have never imagined in these last four months on the field.

Leaving behind my sense of “home”, the comfort and safety of family, the surety and protection in having a comfortable bed to sleep in each night and a steady paycheck to meet all of my financial needs was a step of faith that I am more than grateful I took.

I have seen the world from the eyes of a little girl who carries the joy of the Lord despite difficult circumstances. I have witnessed the faith of a pastor who has given up all that he has to keep his community thriving in the middle of hard times. I have walked beside missionaries who have given up their lives of comfort and success in the States to serve in a country that may not be as financially wealthy, but that carried a familial and cultural wealth that our U.S. society is so heavily deprived of. I have seen families living in the humblest of conditions welcome us in with such joy, giving the best of what they have out of their beautiful servants’ hearts.

My experiences so far have propelled me into a lifelong “yes” to all that the Lord is calling me into. My prayer is that each person reading this will consider what the Lord is calling you deeper into, and that you will step into it with everything you have. My hope is that you will know that experiencing the Lord move in beautiful ways is not limited to the lives of those on the missions field. No matter where you are in this world or what your life looks like as of now, you have the ability to dream big dreams with the Lord. You have the ability to reach out to your communities and serve in ways that will truly build God’s Kingdom here on Earth.

As I continue to serve here in Nicaragua, my fundraising deadline to serve for the next 7 months on the field is on November 28th. That’s ONE WEEK away! My goal is to raise at least $1,500 in the next week to meet my fundraising goal. There is so much work to be done on the field, and as I continue to aim to spread the Gospel of Jesus and bring hope and love into every territory we step into, I pray that you will partner with me in making the possibility of the next 8 months a reality.
